Post 216 celebrated its 96th anniversary and the 100th year of the American Legion and the 100th anniversary of the American Legion in Corona on Saturday, 14 December 2019 from 2pm to 5pm at the Legion Hall at 1024-B South Main Street. The celebration started off with the telecast of the ARMY - NAVY Football Game at noon; and continued with a luncheon for Legionnaires and families, and special guests that included Post 742 Commander Al Navarro, Corona Mayor Jason Scott, and Corona City Council member Wes Speake. The meeting marked the kick-off of our Post “Pillars of Support” fund-raising campaign to help expand and upgrade the interior of our 1929 vintage Hall. We also helped the Joe Dominguez Post 742 Toy Drive Collection with the collected donations of new unwrapped toys for distribution to local families in need...
